AIFF Presents 'The Teachers' Lounge'

The AfterImage Film Festival is very proud to present an exclusive screening of the Oscar-Nominated film 'The Teachers' Lounge' on Saturday, March 9 at the Charlestowne 18 Cinema. You won't be able to see this film anywhere in the western suburbs before the Academy Awards, so don't miss this opportunity!

About the Film
When one of her students is suspected of theft, teacher Carla Nowak decides to get to the bottom of the matter. Caught between her ideals and the school system, the consequences of her actions threaten to break her.

"It's not easy to make an intense thriller about things that could actually happen. But when one appears, it's glorious." - RogerEbert.com

"The Teachers’ Lounge is a pulse-pounding exploration of the ways we draw lines between enemies and friends, and the courage it takes to blur them." - The Hollywood Reporter

"A nail-biting thriller in which director İlker Çatak and sensational star Leonie Benesch turn a tale of petty theft at a German middle school into a battle between freedom of expression and institutional control all too easily recognizable as our own." - ABC News
